Customers Can Now Gain Full Visibility Into Every Identity—Whether Human or Machine—Across Their Entire Environment
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Feb. 25, 2025 – ConductorOne, the unified identity governance platform, today announced new capabilities to help companies address the growing risks associated with non-human identities (NHIs) and agentic AI. ConductorOne now discovers, inventories, maps ownership of, and provides risk alerts for NHIs such as service accounts, API keys, tokens, certificates, and AI agents. This allows customers to manage and secure all identities, whether human or machine, across their entire environment from a single platform.
“Non-human identities and emerging technologies like AI agents are the unknown unknowns for many organizations today. Security leaders are often unable to identify just how many of these entities are operating within their environments—let alone who is responsible for managing them—making it all but impossible to secure this expanding attack surface,” said Alex Bovee, co-founder and CEO, ConductorOne. “Our latest platform features allow companies to bring all of their identities—human and non-human alike—into a single platform. This means no more worrying about the unknown and no more piecemeal approaches to identity security and governance.”
NHIs, AI Agents Represent a Growing Attack Surface
According to recent ESG research, NHIs now outnumber traditional human identities 20:1 and are expected to grow at a rate of 24% over the next year. ConductorOne’s 2024 Identity Security Outlook Report found that 81% of organizations are concerned about the risks NHIs pose to their companies. This concern is justified, with the ESG research showing that two-thirds of organizations know or suspect they have suffered at least one cyberattack due to compromised NHIs in the past 12 months. Additionally, as emerging technologies such as agentic AI become more mainstream and begin experiencing real-world adoption, there will be an increased need for effective solutions to discover and govern these entities.
“NHIs play a critical role in everything from how apps communicate with one another to powering AI initiatives. Despite their increasing prevalence, NHIs are still an underappreciated blind spot for many organizations. What’s more, our research shows that unsecured NHIs contribute to serious security incidents, and those incidents get board-level attention,” said Todd Thiemann, Senior Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. “With its latest updates, ConductorOne is taking a strong stance that NHIs should be governed just like any other identity. This functionality will simplify workflows for identity and security teams, so they can address workforce identity and NHI security from a single console.”
Unified Governance for Any Identity in Any Environment
The new functionality allows users to automatically discover NHIs and AI agents across their entire environment, using ConductorOne’s lightweight connectors to quickly integrate with any cloud and on-prem applications and infrastructure. The platform then automatically surfaces and categorizes these entities across these systems into a single inventory view. Once discovered, ConductorOne’s Unified Identity Graph is able to map each NHI or AI agent to responsible identities, alert on security issues, and drive governance and lifecycle management.
Unlike point solutions, ConductorOne brings together governance for human and non-human identities into a single, unified solution. This allows customers to gain comprehensive control over all identity types while also simplifying their identity security tech stack. The ConductorOne platform also offers an incredibly fast time-to-value, thanks to its intuitive UI and robust integration ecosystem. This means businesses can gain visibility and control over identities right away, in contrast to the months or longer it can take to integrate systems using legacy IGA solutions.
