From reducing costs to increasing operational efficiency and improving security outcomes, AI agents present a potential boon for security teams. But the idea of integrating semi-autonomous agents into security workflows can create as much fear as it does excitement.
To shed light on the quickly evolving role of AI in the security industry, ConductorOne CEO Alex Bovee invited industry experts Nancy Wang and Ashish Popli to join him on the latest episode of theAll Aboard podcast. Together they dig into the security concerns around AI agents, opportunities and approaches for using them, and the challenges we still need to overcome to realize their potential.
Ideally, the transition to using AI will elevate the accuracy and effectiveness of security operations while simultaneously reducing costs—a win-win for overstretched security teams shackled by labor-intensive and limited rule-based systems. Used strategically, AI agents can help security teams move from a defensive to a more proactive security stance, making it easier to protect systems without being overwhelmed by manual processes. But complex questions will need to be addressed before we’re comfortable with AI agents regularly accessing and making decisions about critical data and systems.
It’s hard to predict exactly what the future of security will look like as AI agents evolve, but Nancy and Ashish are both optimistic about the possibilities and excited to see what solutions emerge as providers and companies develop, fine tune, and integrate AI agents into more processes. Check out the episode to get their take on what questions to ask and what to watch for as the space develops.
